The Lexus ES is one of the best-selling luxury sedans in the US, offering a smooth ride, a spacious cabin, and a reliable reputation. But in a segment dominated by German brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi, the ES has often been seen as a conservative and boring choice.
That might change with the 2024 Lexus ES, which has been redesigned to offer more style, performance, and features than ever before. The new Lexus ES is based on the same platform as the Toyota Camry but has a distinct identity that sets it apart from its mainstream sibling.
The 2024 Lexus ES features a long and sculpted hood, a signature spindle grille, swept-back adaptive LED headlights with integrated DRLs, door-mounted ORVMs, chrome window lining, flared wheel arches, and new 18-inch designer wheels with a Vapor Chrome finish. The luxury sedan has a sleek and aerodynamic profile, making it look sporty and elegant.
The interior of the 2024 Lexus ES is equally impressive, with high-quality materials, comfortable seats, and a stylish dashboard. The ES offers plenty of room for five passengers, with 97.4 cubic feet of passenger volume and 13.9 cubic feet of trunk space. The cabin is also equipped with various amenities and technologies to enhance the driving experience.
One of the new Lexus ES highlights is the new Lexus Interface system, which features a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The system also supports over-the-air updates, voice recognition, wireless charging, and a SmartAccess Card Key that allows drivers to unlock and start the car with their smartphone.
The Lexus ES also offers several safety and driver-assist features as part of the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 package. These include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, parking assist and a surround-view camera.
The 2024 Lexus ES is available with three different powertrain options: a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 302 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 203 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid system that generates 215 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque.
The 2.5-liter V6 engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The four-cylinder engine can be paired with either an eight-speed automatic transmission or a continuously variable transmission (CVT), depending on the trim level. The four-cylinder engine also offers an all-wheel drive option for improved traction in slippery conditions.
